How do I block users from creating a personal Hotspot?

Note:
The shared internet provided from the protected device will not be filtered. When activating a hotspot, all shared web traffic is rerouted out of our filtering server making it technologically impossible to share filtered internet. Rest assured, your device will be protected while the hotspot is enabled.

Personal mobile Hotspot is a feature on smartphones/tablets that allows users to share cellular data with other devices. Netspark Mobile enables you to block users from creating a personal Hotspot on Android their device. This will prevent the user from sharing unfiltered internet access to other devices.

In order to block creating a personal Hotspot, please follow these steps:

1.  Open the Netspark Mobile app on your device.

2. Login with your admin email address and password.

3. Select the device you'd like to block the Hotspot for from the device list (the default selected device is your device).

4. Press the Settings tab (gear icon  ).

5. Scroll down to Advanced Protection Settings and Toggle on the Block Hotspot switch

Creating a personal Hotspot is now blocked. Whenever the user will attempt to create a Hotspot, it will disconnect automatically.
